Over the past year, we remained involved in the lives of Leo and Mia, two of the graduates, by bringing food and clothing to them and their families on a regular basis. Leo and his family make their living by picking trough garbage for plastic containers that they collect and take to a recycle station. They make little money by doing this, so any help is welcome.
Mia got engaged this spring and moved in with her fiancé and his family. She is learning to take care of chickens and ducks, and to plant and take care of her garden that will provide some food for them over the winter months. She was so proud of her work when she showed us around her garden.
Helping them with some of their physical needs keeps a door open for us to encourage them on a spiritual level. Our desire is to see this circle of abandonment stopped, and for this generation of orphans to understand that they can be more and do batter than their parents before them!
